Course and Grading 10th and 11th of November 2007-11-06

The course is to be held at Pool school Redruth and the main instructors will be Fran and Neil Roode from North Devon,

The Grading for all Grades will be held on the Sunday, don’t forget to take your Grading books and juniors must take their signed blue technique book or you will be examined for theory and questions, and have to demonstrate throws and hold for your grade.

Although there has been no Judo activity at the club during the summer holidays the clubs business must still be done.

This means work for Nina and Ann and others exchanging phone calls and signing cheques to make sure bills are paid, and filling out the necessary  forms needing to be completed, members should always be aware of the good work that goes on all the time behind the scenes to keep the club going.

Sensei John took a session at the Hayle Judo Clubs summer school again during August; the summer school was well attended and was again a great success.

Don’t forget that we will be having our own club championships in September and help will be required from members and friends to organise and assist on the day and before, if you feel you can help in any way or if you have any suggestions that you feel would be helpful, please get in touch.

Watch the web site for categories and prizes that will be available and details of the event.

The club closed for the summer season on Friday night the 20th of July with two full classes the primaries and juniors all enjoying their evening and broke up waiting to return on Friday September the 7th.

Once again the Lions club President Mr Keith Sturdy accompanied by Lions member Mr Derek Chapman visited the club and presented the Lions club shield for the most improved junior player, and gave the club a cheque for £100.

The Lions Club have supported the Judo clubs work with young people for many years and their help is greatly appreciated by the club committee and members.

This year the shield was awarded to William Taylor who was congratulated by Sensei John Couch senior club coach who said William always practices hard, is polite and helpful, attended two classes a week, and is always willing to help with the younger children, everyone will agree that William is well deserving of the shield this year.
